Knight Lesson For The Week Of February 5th- Be Kind and Encourage Others

This week's Knight Lesson is to be kind and encourage others. Encouraging our peers can benefit both our peers and ourselves. When we encourage others, it can help them feel better about themselves and help them have the confidence to do things that they did not think that they could do. It does often come back to help us as well. When you see someone do something that they did not think they could do, you also feel encouraged to try new things and know that you helped someone else. Encouragement is infectious, when students see others being encouraging, it helps them want to be encouraging as well.

RoboKnights Have A Fantastic Day At The Regional Competition!

Our Roboknights 8th grade team, the Waffle Turtles, had one FANTASTIC day today at the Regional FIRST Lego League competition in Madison! They tied for 4th in the robotics competition, then went on to earn the 2nd place overall Champion award with their core values, innovation project (Histo-Draw), and robot design presentation. They were also nominated for two other awards, the Robot Design Award and Core Values Award.  They have worked so very hard since August, and really put on a great show at the Regional Competition. Congratulations to Claire Mondloch, Eddie Bloomer, Charlotte Czerwonka, and Eloise Czerwonka!! Knight Lesson For The Week of November 6th- Pay Attention To Speakers

This week on Friday, we will celebrate Veterans Day.  Since we will be celebrating Veterans Day and there will be various speakers at the assembly, our focus for this week will be paying attention to speakers.  This emphasis is part of our PBIS Behavior Matrix and also connects with our Social Behavior goal of having responsible verbal and physical interactions with peers and adults. Students can display respect for teachers and guest speakers by making sure things that might be distractions are put away.  Additionally, students should have their eyes on the speaker and should not be talking with other students.  Paying attention also means not distracting others with your feet or any movements that could cause a distraction.  Nodding and facial expressions can also signal to the speaker that you are paying attention to what is being said. Knight Lesson Of The Week- Be Responsible and Follow Timelines

     This week we are focusing on following timelines. This is the last week of the trimester and it is time to push and focus on getting any work handed in to teachers. Often we may find ourselves procrastinating and pushing our work off to the last minute. This has an effect on more than just ourselves. We need to remember that if we do not get our work handed in, this pushes our teachers and peers back as well. If we remember to stay on task when work is first given out, then it is not as overwhelming when it comes to the end of the trimester and time to get everything done.     We are looking forward to a great 2nd trimester at NGMS!
