2025-2026 November Parent Communication
Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to November and the month of gratitude. As we move into this special time of year, it’s a wonderful opportunity to pause and reflect on all that we’re thankful for. I’m especially grateful for the chance to work with such an amazing group of students, dedicated staff, and supportive parents. Our community’s commitment to our schools is something I truly appreciate every day. I hope this month offers you moments to reflect on the many things that bring you joy and gratitude as well.
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at:

Six Million Pop Tabs Holocaust Remembrance Project
New Glarus Middle School is launching the Six Million Pop Tabs Holocaust Remembrance Project to honor the six million Jewish lives lost during the Holocaust. Each pop tab collected will represent one life — one person, one story, one memory. Students, families, and community members are encouraged to save and bring in pop tabs to help us reach our goal of six million. Together, we can remember those who were taken and take a stand for kindness and understanding.
Glarner Community Field Project-
The first goal of fundraising for the new community field has been met and a huge thank you to all those who contributed to the project. The second phase is underway and if you are interested in contributing, please go to Glarner Community Field Project.
Anxious Generation-
After the first of the year, the NGSD Admin will be hosting a book read of the book The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt. The author shares how technology and social media have contributed to an increase in childhood mental health concerns. There will be three different sessions, and this opportunity will be open to all families. More information will be coming as we approach the new year, and we are looking forward to some great conversations.
Bus Safety-
With the weather changing, it is a great time to remind everyone to be especially careful around buses. Also, a reminder to please stop when the stop sign is out and buses are stopped.
