New Glarus Middle School Sounds of the Season

New Glarus Middle School was filled with music, pride, and community spirit as students shared their talents during the rescheduled Winter Concerts earlier this month.

Originally planned for December 10, the concerts were postponed due to inclement weather. Thanks to the flexibility and understanding of families, students, and staff, the performances were successfully held on new dates—the Band Concert on Thursday, December 11, followed by the Choir Concert on Tuesday, December 16.

The concerts showcased the hard work and dedication of NGMS student musicians. Band students performed a variety of seasonal and concert selections, demonstrating growth in musicianship, teamwork, and confidence. The choir followed with a wonderful evening of vocal performances that highlighted harmony, expression, and the joy of singing together.

Despite the schedule change, the turnout and support from families and community members remained strong. The concerts served as a poignant reminder of the vital role the arts play in our schools—bringing people together, building confidence in students, and creating unforgettable experiences for all involved.

The New Glarus Middle School staff extends a sincere thank you to Amy Doefer, Andy Schulz, and Emalie Sternberg for their leadership and commitment, to students for their perseverance and professionalism, and to families for their continued support and flexibility. We are proud of our students and grateful to celebrate their talents as part of our school community.

We look forward to many more opportunities to enjoy the music and accomplishments of our NGMS students throughout the school year.
