Middle School Band and Choir Concert-

One of the things that I am looking forward to in December is the Winter Concerts.  This year, we will be hosting the Middle School Band and Choir Concert on Wednesday, December 10th at 6:00 p.m. in the MPR. We hope to see you there!

MS Attendance and Tardies-

Tardies are given to students when they are ‘late’ for a class. In the office, we also use them to indicate when a student has missed the beginning of a class, but less than half of the class is missed. So, if your student was out for an appointment or other reason and returned in the middle of a class, a tardy may be recorded. If a student misses more than half of the class and the school is aware of the reason for their absence, then the entry will be changed to excused. It is essential to note that in Middle School, tardies are not counted against a student's total attendance.

Start of Trimester 2- A Safety Review

With the start of Trimester 2, we will be reviewing our safety procedures during the first week of the second trimester.  We will be having an ALICE review during the first part of the week and an ALICE drill during homeroom on Wednesday, December 3rd.  Additionally, we will review Speak Up/Speak Out and our School Safety Form as ways that students can report unsafe behaviors.  We want to continue to have a safe school year!

Winter Parent/Teacher Conferences

Trimester 2 Parent/Teacher conferences will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2025, from 4-8:00 p.m.  More information will be shared after the new year.

Six Million Pop Tabs Holocaust Remembrance Project

New Glarus Middle School is launching the Six Million Pop Tabs Holocaust Remembrance Project to honor the six million Jewish lives lost during the Holocaust. Each pop tab collected will represent one life — one person, one story, one memory. Students, families, and community members are encouraged to save and bring in pop tabs to help us reach our goal of six million. Together, we can remember those who were taken and take a stand for kindness and understanding.
