New Glarus Middle School

The New Glarus School District proudly hosted its annual Spelling Bee on Wednesday, January 7, at 6:00 p.m. in the New Glarus High School Auditorium. The event showcased the academic talent, preparation, and perseverance of students across the district. A total of 25 students from grades 4–8 participated in this year’s competition. After several challenging rounds, Lev Bartlett, a 6th-grade student, was crowned the Spelling Bee Champion with the winning word “chartreuse.”  The 1st Runner-Up was Declan Umhoefer, a 7th-grade student, who also demonstrated impressive spelling skills throughout the competition. The evening was marked by excellent sportsmanship and strong support among students, creating a positive and encouraging atmosphere for all participants. The district extends its appreciation to all 4th–8th-grade teachers, who played an important role in preparing students and helping select participants for the event.
