Knight Lesson Of The Week- Be Responsible and Follow Timelines

Image
This week we are focusing on following timelines. This is the last week of the trimester and it is time to push and focus on getting any work handed in to teachers. Often we may find ourselves procrastinating and pushing our work off to the last minute. This has an effect on more than just ourselves. We need to remember that if we do not get our work handed in, this pushes our teachers and peers back as well. If we remember to stay on task when work is first given out, then it is not as overwhelming when it comes to the end of the trimester and time to get everything done.     We are looking forward to a great 2nd trimester at NGMS!

Knight Lesson For The Week Of November 20th-  Be Grateful

Image
This week, the Middle School PBIS lesson is to Be Grateful. In life, we have many things that we can be grateful for. There can be a range of things every day that one can stop and be thankful for. For example, we all could be grateful for having a roof over our heads and people who care about us. But, we also could be grateful for the sun shining or a peer saying hello.  We each have the opportunity to make an impact on someone’s day. Simply giving someone a smile in the hall can make all the difference in someone’s day and life. We all should take a moment to appreciate the small things in life that we can be grateful for.  This year, I am most grateful for the relationships that we have the opportunity to build every day at school with students, staff, and parents. Some may say that their job is something that they have to do, but I am personally grateful that this is something that I Get To Do! We hope that each of you has a wonderful Thanksgiving Break and are able to reflect on

Knight Lesson For The Week Of November 13th- Be Respectful and Follow Directions

Next Week’s Knight Lesson is to Be Respectful and follow directions. Following directions is an important part of life, whether you are in school or out of school. Following directions that are set forth by others helps to guide people into knowing the plan and making good decisions. This is extremely helpful in school, to know where you are supposed to be and what task you should be on. Have a great week, Knights!

Knight Lesson For The Week of November 6th- Pay Attention To Speakers

Image
This week on Friday, we will celebrate Veterans Day.  Since we will be celebrating Veterans Day and there will be various speakers at the assembly, our focus for this week will be paying attention to speakers.  This emphasis is part of our PBIS Behavior Matrix and also connects with our Social Behavior goal of having responsible verbal and physical interactions with peers and adults. Students can display respect for teachers and guest speakers by making sure things that might be distractions are put away.  Additionally, students should have their eyes on the speaker and should not be talking with other students.  Paying attention also means not distracting others with your feet or any movements that could cause a distraction.  Nodding and facial expressions can also signal to the speaker that you are paying attention to what is being said. On Friday, we will hear stories from those who have committed so much for our freedom.  Let's show them our undivided attention! Last year, New
